The Aaronia Spectran is a spectrum analyser manufactured by Aaronia.
There are several models and versions of the Aaronia Spectran. The complete list is available at their website.
The Aaronia Spectran HF-60100 X is supported by RadiMation® and can be controlled by RadiMation® and used as spectrum analyser and a powermeter. There is a restriction in the tools that are provided by Aaronia, which makes it necessary that the Aaronia is connected to the same PC on which RadiMation® is running.
To be able to use the Aaronia Spectran HF-60100 X in RadiMation®, it is necessary to download and install the 'Aaronia MCS software' and the 'Aaronia Spectran USB-TCP Bridge software'.
Aaronia MCS software
The Aaronia MCS software can be downloaded from their website at: http://spectran-developer.net/web/index.php?id=9.The RadiMation® driver has been tested in combination with the '2.1.3' version of the MCS Software.After the download and the installation of the MCS software, it should be possible to control the Aaronia Spectran unit using the MCS software. Please ensure that the MCS software is correctly working with the Aaronia Spectran unit.
To be able to control the Aaronia Spectran unit from RadiMation® also the Aaronia Spectran USB-TCP Bridge software is required.
Aaronia Spectran USB-TCP Bridge (SUTB) software
This USB-TCP Bridge software is part of the Software Development Kit that is provided by Aaronia. The complete Software Development Kit can be downloaded from the 'Download' section of the Spectran Developer.net website. The direct link is: http://spectran-developer.net/web/index.php?id=65
On the download page select for Step 1: 'Development'. For Step 2, select: 'SNDK'. The correct download is now shown as: 'Spectran Network Development Kit (20150317, Windows)'. (The direct link to the FTP server seems to be: http://spectran-developer.net/ftp/software/windows/sndk/SNDK-20150317.zip)The RadiMation® driver has been tested in combination with the '20150317' version of the SNDK.
Once the download is completed, open the downloaded ZIP file, and copy the contents of the 'SNDK-20150317SUTB' directory to a suitable directory on the PC.
The 'SpectranUsbTcpBridge.exe' program behaves like a conversion program between the USB port of the Spectran and a network port. This program needs to be running and started to allow communication with the Spectran Aaronia unit. Once the software is started, it should automatically detect the connected Spectran analyser, which will be shown in the 'Device' dropdown box. Ensure that the 'Tcp Port' is configured as 2308 (which is the default). And press the 'Start Server' button.
RadiMation® Device Driver Configuration
RadiMation® provides a Spectrum Analyser and a Power Meter device driver for the Aaronia Spectran analyser. The device driver can be created as normally, as it is described in Chapter 14. In the 'Advanced' settings of the device driver, the communication setting can best be set to 'TCPIP', where the address is specified as: 'tcpip://localhost:2308'.

The Aaronia GPS - Logger includes a total of 6 sensors, all of them on the cutting edge of technology, making it the world's first stand-alone data logger with such a variety of sensors. Not to forget is also the very small form factor and the extremely high data rate of approx. 35 logs/second (freely adjustable). The logger with battery weighs just 88 grams.
The main purpose of the GPS logger consists of recording the position and even the orientation of the Aaronia antennas (HyperLOG X, HyperLOG EMI or Magnotracker series). The GPS sensor allows for easy collection and documentation of your measurement position , including elevation information.
Even more interesting is the Tilt-sensor and the digital compass, hereby the inclination and orientation of the antenna can be recorded and evaluated during the measurement. This special feature allows you to easily create an 'RF heat map' including frequency , direction and strength of an RF source within 360 degrees.
The Aaronia GPS-Logger offers a very fast update rate of up to 35 complete logs with all sensor data per second (on microSDCard and/or USB-Streaming) offering a 'real time' display of the unit orientation. At maximum rate the Aaronia GPS-Logger will produce around 50MB/hour (uncompressed)! The maximum usable microSD volume is 2GB, offering a maximum recording time of about 2 days at full speed on the
microSD card. The data rate can be adjusted to much lower rates to keep data volume much lower offering long time recording on the microSD card over weeks or even months.
The Aaronia GPS - logger can be used with the internal LiPo battery (standalone) and / or USB (provides unlimited operating time).
The logger has three operating modes :
• Streaming / logging on the internal ( removable) microSD Card, completely independently as a stand- alone device
• Continuous recording via USB port (PC, Linux or MAC OS)
• Transfer of files stored in internal microSD Card (PC, Linux or MAC OS)
The Aaronia GPS - logger can be mounted directly on HyperLOG X, Magnotracker and HyperLOG EMI antennas (screws and adapter included). It can also be mounted on any other device , car, etc. with the included adapter. This only requires 2 holes to be drilled to attach the supplied adapter.
